MGP will not rot, swell or blister and has been used by shipbuilders as a material for the topsides of yachts for over 20 years. Marine Grade Polymer, or "MGP" as it is commonly known, is a high-density polyethylene which is made of more than 30% recycled materials and resists corrosion because it does not absorb water. Always a leader in the industry when it comes to sustainability and innovation, and as a part of their new "lean initiative", Telescope Casual began introducing several collections that were either entirely made of Marine Grade Polymer or had elements of Marine Grade Polymer incorporated into the design. They have done this by going from "mass production to mass customization" and by producing "smaller amounts of a large variety of products". With this culture of conservation and sustainability at the core of what Telescope Casual is about, they streamlined the manufacturing process to cut down on wasted employee productivity and to better compete with products manufactured overseas. This has allowed Telescope Casual to avoid burning an estimated 1/2 million barrels of oil. They use the waste wood from their wood operations to heat their 1,000,000 sq.
